Blockade of American oil companies! Russia takes over "Sakhalin-1 LNG" directly

Recently, Japan said that the Sakhalin-1 LNG project on the Russian Far East shelf is important for Japan to secure diversified crude oil imports. The Japanese statement comes just two days after Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a decree authorizing the Russian government to establish a new operator of the Sakhalin-1 LNG project to take over the rights and obligations of Exxon Neftegaz Limited. This is considered to be a move by Russia to take back the lead in the operation of Sakhalin-1 LNG from the Russian subsidiary of the US energy giant Exxon Mobil Corporation.
